Target Shooting can naturally attract many questions due to the media attention it has received. Please find below, some frequent questions asked about the sport. If you do not find an answer to a question you may have, please contact us through the form on the contact page.
Q. Is shooting safe?
A. Absolutely!. Before you can start shooting, you must fill out a S.21 Firearms form and go through a safety briefing with the club member in charge of the evening, who will be part of the Committee. Once you start shooting, you will receive full instructions from our NSRA Qualified Range Officers, who will ensure you have a fun and safe time shooting.
Q. Is there an age limit to starting shooting?
A. No. Currently at Aldingbourne, we believe that if someone is capable of understanding what they are doing and able to hold the weight of a Rifle, they can shoot at our range. If you are under 18, you need Adult Supervision and you will receive guidance from the Range Officer.
Q. Is shooting expensive?
A. No. The cost for Junior shooters (Up to the age of 18) is £1 a night. The cost for Adult shooters (18+) is £2.50 a night. All equipment is provided, apart from ammunition. For example, a box of 50 rounds in .22LR Calibre, is on average, £6.50.
